This season exhibitions :
Collective Joy - Learning Flamboyance!, group show (21/02/2025 – 11/05/2025)
“Collective Joy – Learning flamboyance!” is an exhibition that looks at popular cultures of gathering and group dynamics, conducive to the experience and learning of joy in our daily lives. The exhibition brings together a French and international scene of artists and initiatives inspired by ways of occupying public space: whether they be festive, social, musical, aesthetic, recreational, political or even utopian.
Somewhere in the night, the people dance, Raphaël Barontini (21/02/2025 – 11/05/2025)
Artist Raphaël Barontini offers a reinterpretation of history, particularly African and Caribbean history, by presenting dynamic and fluid narratives that blend contemporary techniques with archives from the past. He explores figuration and the tradition of classical painting through a selection of recent works or pieces created specifically for the exhibition. Paintings, costumes, textile pieces, sound works and performances are showcased in an original scenography. The exhibition forms a comprehensive and generous narrative, blending the real and the fictional, and bringing together the artist’s different areas of research by proposing a renewal of imaginaries.
ALPHABETA SIGMA, RAMMELLZEE (21/02/2025 – 11/05/2025)
A true cryptic legend of the early days of hip-hop, a conceptual and esoteric figure who marked the transition from the street to the studio, Rammellzee is not just a name; it’s a rhythm (the rhythm of the beat), an equation of forms and meanings bursting forth. Rammellzee provokes mutations: graffiti becomes a wild illumination, the city transforms into a manuscript, and letters turn into futuristic armored vehicles.
The exhibition offers a unique tribute within a public institution to an iconic yet largely overlooked figure of 1980s hip-hop in the United States, known for his abstract, colorful paintings and his eccentric effigies.
Collective joy - Iconographic project, group show (21/02/2025 – 11/05/2025)
Circulation and remix of the project 'Dance and Rituals', led by Guillaume Désanges and Coline Davenne at the CND in 2021, this research project infiltrates the 'in-between' spaces of the Palais de Tokyo to weave iconographic connections, affixed directly onto the building’s walls, around the central theme of the Spring 2025 Season: collective joy. The project brings together a wide range of documents with varying statuses: artworks, archival images, postcards, internet searches, social media, posters, the history of rituals and collective gatherings, folk arts and traditions... Its aim is to offer an iconographic, textual, visual, and poetic counterpoint to the event, infiltrating the public spaces of the building.
